Join us on an unforgettable trip to discover the famous ancient city of Arad. Arad was the Canaanite capitol 5,000 years ago and the largest settlement from that time. We will learn about ancient sacrifices and the many other rituals and traditions that defined their way of life as well as the methods they used to build their village to survive during the harsh climates.

We will then make our way to the Israelite Temple that served as a stronghold for the Israelites for over 600 years in the times of the First Temple a mere 3000 years ago. Viewing the ancient ruins and exploring their history in person while referencing the relevant sections of the Torah (Bible) will create a deeper appreciation for the history of the area, the history of the Jewish people and of Israel as a nation. A master storyteller, Levi will be equipped with a copy of the Bible and take you on a journey to bring the incredible history to life.

The second half of our day brings us to one of Israel’s many gems. The Yatir Winery, located in the heart of the desert, has turned into a symbol of the region. Its wines, which have been repeatedly awarded with high scores, exceptional recognition and medals, have been rated in recent years among Israel’s top wines by local as well as international wine critics.

We will have the opportunity to view the extensive and impressive wine press, a testament to a developed wine industry of over 2500 years, dating back to the first reign of the Kings of Israel. The surrounding forest has become a significant ecological tool, as well as an experimental model for innovative methods for combating desertification.

We will bring the day to an end with wine tastings paired with light refreshments. We will then travel back to Jerusalem through the Dead Sea Rift Valley, including stops at various points of this incredible scenic route to fully appreciate this natural phenomenon.
