Kever Rachel:  Our Tour starts where the foremother Rachel is recognized to be buried, as it says in Genesis 48:7 “So I buried her there beside the road to Ephrath" (that is, Bethlehem). This place holds great significance to thousands of pilgrims every year, in particularly women, who connect to Mother Rachel. We will see the wall that separates Judea and Samaria, and Jerusalem.

 

The tour will then take us to the 4th century Church called ‘Kathisma’, one of the few established churches by Helena, Mother of Constatine herself, recognizing this as the place where the Virgin Mary rested before entering Beit Lechem. The incredibly well-preserved mosaics and water reservoirs welcomed pilgrims for over a thousand years. The same location was then turned into a Mosque.

 

Our Tour continues to the Har Aarba the mountain overlooking Jerusalem and Beit Lechem. We take a short 10-minute climb that passes by a thousand-year-old Monastery, a field of ancient olive trees, the Herodian Aqueduct route to Jerusalem and the security point of Jerusalem for thousands of years until recent history.

 

The Aqueduct Park: As the tour makes its way to the Aqueduct Park, you will see the ancient aqueducts, understand how they were built with different techniques throughout the generations and learn about the water that still travels through to Jerusalem.

 

Lunch at the First Station

 

Bible Hill - one of the untouched hilltops near the old city of Jerusalem, you will gaze upon the Old City from the south. The first time many pilgrims would see Jerusalem, overcome with emotion, they would make their way through the valley on Hinum and onto the Temple Mount.

Katef Hinum: Our final stop on this tour takes you to an ancient burial site approximately 2800 years old. The oldest transcript of the Bible was found here, and we will see the groundbreaking evidence that proves the Bible was alive in the 7th century BCE.
